The factors to consider while buying a winch

Well when you come to us, to rent or purchase a winch tractor in Alberta, there are a few things that we would clear in first meeting only. Most of the oil refineries need the winch tractor because it is quite useful and comes handy to pull out things from the oil refineries. A few oilfields purchase such winch tractors in Alberta while a few looks forward to good rentals where they can save some money.

The most important thing to consider while selecting your winch tractor is to know the right usage of the same. You need to the kind of weight you are going to put and under what conditions. The weight, type of frame and strength of the vehicle should be checked where you will mount the winch in your oilfield.

When you do not have much work from your winch or if the vehicle is not so strong, there is no point in buying or renting a heavy duty winch. Further you need to take a decision between an electric or hydraulic winch and whether you must use a wire or a cable to attach the vehicle.

The main difference between the hydraulic and electric winch is the power source. Where the electric winch runs on electricity, the hydraulic winch will take power from the steering pump or the hydraulic system of the pump. Both of these power sources have their own advantages and disadvantages.
